Inky Beast Studio

Dora M. Mitchell is a writer and artist born and raised in Plumas County. She writes books that feature all of her favorite things: small towns hiding dark secrets, haunted places, creatures out of folklore, and pesky kids snooping into things better left alone.

Her books include The Haunted Serpent and The Puzzling Fate of Millicent Graves. She also writes and illustrates the webcomics The Curse of Crooked Mile and Ninecrow.

In addition to writing and illustrating, she enjoys watercolor painting, needle felting, sculpting, and jewelry-making. When she isn’t making things, you’ll find her roaming the wilds of Plumas County, looking for inspiration with her dogs and husband in tow.
